We give 10% of our profits to non-profits and 5% of our paid work time to volunteerism.
Environmental sustainability and conservation are of particular value to our beliefs.
We support Maine Huts and Trails because their mission is to bring families into contact with the natural world with hundreds of miles of trails in Western Maine and rustic lodges for overnight and meals.
The Nature Conservancy is another of our non-profits who care for the protection of Maine’s vast woods and rivers as well as its fishing culture along the coast.
The Island Institute is a partner too in a joint venture to bring sustainable energy such as wind and solar to islands on the coast of Maine.
Human need, education, and the arts also benefit from our policy of philanthropy and volunteerism.
Maine is the most dependent State in America for unemployment benefits. In 2009, we gave the State 5,000 garments to distribute through non-profits like Goodwill to those in need.
