Ramblers Way is a premium brand of American casual clothing for men and women who respond to high quality fabrics and more distinctive clothing style; they are fit, smart, and like to look good.  They care about the environment, social responsibility, and American made products.  The brand consists of knitwear categories like next to skin basic tops and bottoms, as well as sportswear, sweaters, dresses; woven wool shirts fill in the collections all made from fine American wool or cotton.  These styles are made from Ramblers Way Farm’s own fabrics.  To provide the customer with a sustainable choice from natural fibers, the company needed to make its own fabrics in both knitwear and worsted wovens.  Industry textile partners in America have been selected to craft the company’s uniqueness in lightweight, soft, and durable fabrics.  Brands seldom make their own fabrics.

Position Description

The Retail Sales Associate is responsible being an ambassador for our brand of natural fiber, American made apparel, and Ramblers Way core values.  The Retail Sales Associate will be an advocate for the customer ensuring that they are educated on our brand story and have a unique and fulfilling shopping experience.  The Retail Sales Associate is the primary face of Ramblers Way to the customer. They are the personal shopper for the customer.

Reports To:

The Retail Sales Associate reports to both the store Sales Manager and the store Assistant Manager.

Overall Responsibilities

The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for servicing the customer, maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the store, and being proactive in looking for opportunities to improve the customer’s experience.

Customer Service Responsibilities
  • Offer a genuine and speedy greeting followed by courteous customer service

  • Facilitate a solution to the customer’s needs; including customized garments

  • Manage difficult customers with patience and influence

  • Educate customers to the Ramblers Way story and the value of their potential purchases

  • Be a valuable stylist helping the customer put together looks appropriate for their lifestyle

  • Operate the cash register

  • Other duties pertaining to customer service and apparel presentation/display as assigned
Store Upkeep Responsibilities
  • Keep the store fully stocked

  • Support sale and promotional event set-up and break down

  • Keep the store clean and inviting

  • Proactively look for ways to keep the store organized, clothes folded, sizes in order, and displays inviting

  • Refresh mannequin looks and window display per designer’s approval or request

  • Other duties pertaining to customer service and apparel presentation/display as assigned

  • Adhere price tags to inventory and apparel preparation

  • Help cross-train new employees

  • Additional duties as assigned by Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager

  • Ability to climb ladder and hang and take down Open flag daily

  • Dresses professionally and consistent with the Ramblers Way look and aesthetic
Experience and Qualifications

The successful candidate shall have the following experiences and qualifications:

  • Prior retail sales experience in apparel

Employee Type

Permanent and seasonal part-time positions available. 20-30 hours perweek.

Training & Education

Retail Sales Associates will receive education in how to succeed in the Ramblers Way culture and values.  Hands-on training with Ramblers Way products, best approaches to serving the customer, and the telling of the Ramblers Way story will be provided.
