Men's Base Layers

Six pieces, all 100% merino wool, all light enough to wear as a layer and finished enough to wear on their own.

At 135 gsm these sit below the lightest weight most brands sell, and they get there with wool alone rather than by blending in polyester or nylon. The wool is spun to 19.5 micron, comfortably below the point where most people feel prickle.

The Henley wears up or down and reads well enough at the office. The Crew Neck, long or short sleeve, is the everyday one and the piece most people buy twice. The Cross Neck is a quieter neckline, for when you want the shirt to be the shirt rather than the layer under it. The American Wool Beanie is the one piece here made from wool grown in the United States.

The real argument for merino at this weight is a trip. Wear one four days running and it is still decent company on the fifth, because wool resists odor the way cotton and synthetics do not. That is why one of these replaces about six cotton shirts in a drawer.

A note on fit. Our cut runs closer to the body than most American brands. If you are between sizes, or you plan to layer over it, size up.
